Essential Oils

The practice of holistic aromatherapy involves the use and application of therapeutic grade essential oils and not synthetic oils.  Only unadulterated therapeutic-grade essential oils have healing benefits, whereas synthetic oils can actually cause illness and sensitivity including respiratory problems, headaches, allergies, to name just a few.   The quality of  each essential oil depends on where it has been grown, method of distillation, weather and soil conditions, and handling.  Each bottle of oil should always indicate the Latin name of the plant,  where it was grown, whether it is organic or wild crafted, and how it has been distilled.

Therapeutic-grade essential oils are powerful essences extracted from plants known for their healing powers. They are highly antibacterial, antiviral, calming, stimulating, cephalic, cell regenerating, and mood altering, to name just a few of their characteristics. Therapeutic-grade essential oils can alleviate pain, tension, depression, prevent illness by stimulating the immune system, and provide very powerful antiviral, antibacterial, antiseptic, and biotic healing properties. They act as a catalyst to trigger the body's immune defenses. Due to their small molecular structure, they enter and leave the body in a most efficient manner when used properly.

The use of therapeutic-grade essential oils, either through topical application, massage, or inhalation, has a direct and sometimes immediate impact on the hypothalamus portion of the brain. The hypothalamus helps to maintain body temperature, water balance, sleep, appetite, emotions, desires, initiates hormonal secretions, and influences the contractions and relaxation of blood vessel walls.
